MedTrain

Jamestown EMS Education, Inc. - dba MedTrain, is a non-profit corporation started in November of 1999 for the purpose of providing EMS education to the rural areas of North Dakota.

The Medtrain staff members are a team of healthcare professionals with a vast and varied knowledge base. Energetic, creative, and committed to providing accurate and up-to-date information to fellow emergency medical care personnel are hallmark characteristics of the teaching staff. The staff is experienced EMS personnel all actively working in the EMS field. We are based at the Jamestown Area Ambulance Service in Jamestown, North Dakota.

Paramedic Training at the Jamestown site is conducted in North Dakota by Emergency Training Associates.

ETA has been delivering high quality EMS training courses since our founding in 1993.

MedTrain Courses

PARAMEDIC COURSE

Paramedic courses are offered at our EMS education training facilities in Jamestown, ND and Fergus Falls, MN through Emergency Training Associates.   In addition we have a class beginning in January 2009 at Rasmussen College—Moorhead, MN.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

Totally redesigned to incorporate new science evidence from the 2005 guidelines and a new teaching methodology. Through the ACLS course, healthcare providers will enhance their skills in the treatment of the adult victim of a cardiac arrest and other cardiopulmonary emergencies. ACLS emphasizes the importance of basic life support CPR , team interaction and communication during resuscitation. Courses are offered at your locations.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Redesigned to incorporate new science evidence from the 2005 Guidelines and a new teaching methodology. Through the PALS course, healthcare providers will enhance their skills in the treatment of the pediatric patient in respiratory, cardiac or cardiovascular emergencies and arrest. PALS emphasizes the importance of basic life support CPR , team interaction and communication. Initial and refresher courses can be arranged at your hospital, medical center or EMS agency locations throughout Minnesota and North Dakota.

CPR & AED Awareness Presentations

Free 30-60 minute presentations for your business, community group or organization. Awareness, safety, first aid, and critical emergency actions to take until the ambulance arrives. Prevention, Recognition and Actions to take to save a life. Contact us to schedule for your next safety meeting or to arrange at your location or ours.

Customized Certification or Non-certification First aid, Safety, CPR & AED Courses

Designed to fit your business, community, industry, daycare or other community group needs. Participants learn to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, pediatric and infants. Prevention, recognition, and actions to take in an emergency, and care for bleeding, sudden illnesses, injuries, training in Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation and operation of an automatic external defibrillator (AED) can be included. Important training for everyone and takes only 3-4 hours to learn "How to Save a Life".

BLS for Healthcare Providers

Course covers core material such as adult and pediatric CPR (including two-rescuer scenarios and use of the bag mask resuscitator), foreign-body airway obstruction, and automated external defibrillation. For healthcare providers such as EMS personnel, physician assistants, doctors, dentists, nurses, and respiratory

therapists who must have a credential (card) documenting successful completion of a CPR course.

Instructor Training Courses

Courses are offered in Fergus Falls, MN and Jamestown, ND at our on-site Education Centers. In addition we offer the program at other sites throughout Minnesota and North Dakota. Contact us for more information.

Bloodeborne Pathogens training

Initial or refresher training to discuss OSHA requirements, emergency planning and actions, and universal precautions to protect those providing emergency care.

First Responder Initial

First responders are essential providers in the EMS system. After completion of this course students are confident, competent, and ready to work with there local first responder team, fire service or law enforcement. The class can be set-up to meet your scheduling needs and can be at your site or ours. Flexible class schedules can be arranged.

First Responder Refresher training

Refresher training is very important for the EMS professionals to keep current and competent in the EMS field. This course can be taken over a two year period as continuing education or as a 16 hour class in a shorter period of time. We will schedule to meet your needs.

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Basic

This course prepared participants to obtain National and State EMT Certification upon successful completion of State and National testing. This course prepares the students to work on ambulance services and is required training for work on any ambulance service in Minnesota and North Dakota. Ideal for seniors in high school, college students, and community members interested in healthcare or pursuing Pre-Professional degrees, and advanced medical personnel in business and industry.

EMT Refresher Course

The EMT Refresher class can be taken as a continuing education program or a class. Continuing education extends over a contracted period. We can come to your site or training can be taken at our training centers in Fergus Falls, MN or Jamestown, ND.

EMT—Paramedic Certification Course

Our paramedic program is accredited through the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). The program is offered at both our Jamestown and Fergus Falls training centers along with other locations as arranged and requested. Upon successful completion of our paramedic training program students complete NREMT testing and obtain National Registry, State of Minnesota and/or North Dakota Paramedic certification.
