Our Advanced Life Support ambulance is equipped with all of the standard ALS patient care equipment for cardiac care, patient care and monitoring. It is specially equipped with a bariatric transport stretcher, which has a 29-inch frame and 1600lb weight capacity to safely move larger patients and ensure operator and patient safety while transporting to our from a facility. We utilize a ramp system and winch to safely move the patient into and out of the ambulance.
The new bariatric medical transportation service was implemented because of a growing concern for safe and secure transporation of larger patients throughout the region. Our services are available to any hospital, nursing home, or individual requiring medical transportation. Our ambulance has been specifically designed for the bariatric patient for safe, efficient, secure transportation for this special population of patients. We can also assist and provide local ambulance service with transportation of bariatric patients upon request.
